Take Them A Meal

So I might be a little behind the times but I received an email the other day from a friend Sarah who introduced me to one of the coolest websites. This is one of those things that after you see it you pull on your hair and say “Why didn’t I think of that?!”

It’s called Take Them A Meal.com.

It’s genius!

We have all been involved in that group that wants to take a meal to a friend when they have a baby or lost a loved one and it begins with one person scrambling with pad and paper to set up a schedule, make phone calls to everyone, call or email out the details, make sure the schedule is full, make sure two people don’t bring the same meal two nights in a row etc etc.

Well that’s where Take Them A Meal.com comes in handy.

An organizer sets up the friend in the system and adds participants then Take Them A Meal.com handles the rest. Take Them A Meal.com sends out an email to all participants informing them of the event and includes a direct link to the details and schedule. It then allows anyone to go in and sign up to TAKE THEM A MEAL! It allows everyone involved to see the schedule and see what everyone else is bringing so there is no possibility of an overlap! It allows “the friend” to be able to log on at anytime and see when they are receiving a meal and even what they will be enjoying that night for dinner :) It’s so simple. The best part is it allows anyone to forward the email along to other friends in case there was someone that wasn’t on the original list that would be interested in participating! That way you really get “the friend” covered and taken care of during a busy or tough time!

So this morning I sighed up to take Christine and Scott a meal on October 20th through Take Them A Meal.com! Scott and Christine recently had a baby, Vance, and now Christine has started back to work so needless to say things in the Whelchel household have been kind of busy. Sarah set it up so that one person will take the Whelchel’s a meal every Sunday and Wednesday night for the next two months in hopes of helping Christine stay out of the kitchen and more time in the living room with her little family!
