"The Best Mirror Is An Old Friend"

Her mother was my first grade teacher. We were in the same 2nd grade class; same 4th grade class, same 5th grade class; same team in 6th grade, and all the same classes throughout high school. We were always on the soccer field together in middle school and high school. We were sisters in ADPi, roomies at University Suites, and we lived in the ADPi house at the same time.

Yesterday Leslie celebrated her 26th birthday and I can’t tell you how appreciative I am to have had her friendship over the past 20 years.

Happy Birthday Lee Lee!

Leslie is an amazing woman and no one could take away the friendship that she has proven to me was possible. She has been there for me HONESTLY through every bend in the road with exactly the right thing to say or the appropriate gesture. Leslie is realistic and honest – something you only get from a true friend.

Walking across Piney Grove Road with a pink fisher price sleeping bag for a sleepovers; painting pillow cases at one of Les’ birthday parties; spending every waking minute at Hidden Hills pool; “having people over” when Chuck and Susie were out of town; feeling like the coolest kid in town ridding around in her white civic as she was the first to get her license; daring her in the second grade to see how hard she could bang her pink cast against the hall wall at school; watching the poor girl hobble around on her messed up knee; going out the night of college freshman orientation so that Les could meet up with one of her “friends”; going upstairs at U-Suites only to find Les laying in her bed wearing a polo sweater and seven jeans watching How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and Sweet Home Alabama; eating breakfast together in elementary school at our house before going out and playing soccer and four square, and the list could go on and on…..

Even though we are getting older and live in different cities, these childhood friendships that you form are some of the most important relationships. I am excited to cross this 26th year still calling Lee Lee a friend and look forward to at least the next 26!

Happy Birthday Les02Lee!
